Stacie and Zach

Fast Forward

Ok, it’s time to speed past the last few months. After Ezra was born, the two kids and I sped off to California for a two week vacation/recovery. Zach stayed in Baltimore to finish up his thesis writing.

A few weeks after our return he was done writing and the stress of that has been replaced by the stress of a new job. Thank goodness he enjoys his work!
Once Zach was ready to defend his thesis, we left India with the Palmers and flew up to Boston. Ezra and I stayed with our friends the Naters.

It was great to visit with them and to cheer Zach on… too bad Ezra wanted to nurse and cry while Zach was giving his talk. Zach didn’t mind, and thought we should have stayed in the room. Zach could talk right through the squaks and cries, no problem.

We spent Easter with the Palmers and had loads of fun.

Zach was also able to bless Ezra, finally!

In May India had her 4th birthday party; a fairy princess party. All the girls wore wings and the boys (briefly) wore paper hats. We played musical flowers, read a fairy story and even had a fairy hunt.

The first week of June was pretty crazy! Ezra and I made the trek to California for my friend Christina’s wedding. She’s a fellow BYU photo grad.
We stayed with the Howards (friends from Boston) in their cute little apartment in Beverly Hills. Fancy, fancy.

Cute close-up photo by Aunt Teri.
Saturday was filled with the wedding in Santa Barbara, Sunday the Howards drove us down to Vista for a BBQ at the Stubb’s house (other friends from Boston). While in Vista we saw the Corbins, the Moores and Uncle Noah even made an appearance!

After that we were driven to Aunt Lisa’s house to see Austin, Cadin, Mark, Abuela and Uncle Dean. Monday we were driven to Huntington Beach where we saw Granny, Grandpa H, Aunt Teri and my High School friend Kim. Believe it or not we weren’t able to see everyone we were hopping to. Next time Angelique!
Then Ezra and I flew back East… to Boston. There we were greeted by Zach and India at 5am!! Never again with the red-eye. I slept in the Wang-Powell’s basement until noon, then we headed out to the Customs House Downtown. It was really cool staying in such an awesome building; thank you Aunt Janet and Uncle Ken (Reber)! Too bad it was rainy and cold the entire time. That’s Boston for you. We saw a ton of friends, but as with the Cali trip, we didn’t get to see everyone we wanted to. India is still sad that she didn’t have that play date with Hannah. I hope we return soon to make up for lost time.
So we spent 4 fun filled days in Boston with Grandma and Grandpa Smith. Lots of graduation dinners and fanfare and hoopla. Very cool and a great way to end our time in Boston. I didn’t want to leave. I loved driving the familiar, crazy streets of Boston. We had returned home. Too bad there wasn’t a house to call our own anymore. Maybe some day. Where WILL we end up??

This is India with Drew, I mean Superman.
