Our New Place
So I was chatting with our neighbor from Baltimore this afternoon and shared with her the news that we’re under contract for a home in Arapahoe Acres. This is a pretty cool neighborhood and we are excited to move in. If all goes well we will be in our new place by mid June.
Is that fast, or what? I kept thinking that we could take our time and look around, totally explore our options. But once we began looking at this neighborhood we had a hard time leaving it. The last time we went there India said “Ohhh, this neighborhood again?!” Even with her boredom she is excited to move into our new home that boasts a room with stars on the ceiling… just like in Baltimore. We can’t wait to explore the constellations in this new room.
Ok, I know, you want the photos. Here they are:

Front exterior. The right hand side (that is taller) was the master bedroom with ~15 foot ceilings. It has been made into the tv/family room. The master bed is an addition on top of the garage. So there are two similar looking “towers” on either side of the house.

The back of the house. The entrance is on the right side. We will work on getting a table on that patio. Maybe we’ll eventually make a patio out those huge windows.

This is the view when you first walk in. Our relater calls this a “wow house”. Are you feeling it?
Just to the right of this view are the stairs to the master bedroom. Beyond those, a nice sized study/office with 3 walls (sharing the light of these front room windows). Beyond the study is a hall to 2 bedrooms and beyond that the kitchen which again is open to the main living space.

Not quite the view from the kitchen, this was probably taken from the hall to the family room.

This is the kitchen. I’m excited about the counter space and nice number of deep cupboards. Oh and the bar will allow me to cook with the kids. Or where they’ll watch and lick bowls. India has just discovered the joys of licking the bowls clean.
We Have Arrived
Just in case you were wondering where we are; we’ve made it to Denver. Our house search is in full swing including school tours and seeing what the local ward is like (basically seeing what church would be like in each neighborhood). Anyway, India and Ezra thought that days of driving around were ever once we arrived here. They were wrong. Luckily each drive lands us at a park to play at. Too bad we keep finding no kid parks. Are the parks in the city the only ones used?
We are living in the city right now across from one of the most popular parks around. There is a great playground about 1/4 mile away, the north portion of the park. Today we went there and it was packed. Beautiful day = lots of kids with their parents. I think it helps that we arrived after naps and school.
We are still feeling our way around the city and have gotten excited about this neighborhood of mid-century modern homes. We might end up there yet. There are 6 properties on the market with one more coming on this Saturday. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.
Yesterday India celebrated her birthday at Build a Bear… I’ll post photos once I process them.
